America was born in struggle. Since the very inception the Government of the United States has represented a thin layer of our society: white, male, and rich. Through our history leaders have taken aim at injustice and won many of the rights we now take for granted. The current political shift to the right by both parties of the rich is aimed at turning back the clock on social progress. Since the rich have destroyed our jobs by sending them overseas and weakend the unions, the 99% have been working longer more productive hours for less pay. The rich 1% have nearly tripled their profits in the last 30 years while the rest of us suffer rising energy, health and retirement costs and frozen wages. Yet the rich are not satisfied…they want to roll back the remaining social protections even if it means millions more Americans in poverty and a continued degradation of our environment and dire prognosis for our children’s future.
We cannot sit back and watch the world destroyed by the GREED of a few.
That is why we fight!
As we approach the elections of 2012 the pressure will be on to support one of the two parties of the elite 1%. For those who wish to be part of the process of change in this country–to see the United States play a leadership role in the effort to create a livable world for our children and generations to come–the pressure to support President Obama will be increasing. It is important to remember that Obama is the candidate of choice for the 1%. That is why the super-rich have given Obama more money for his campaign than all the Republican candidates put together. He has proven that he can best represent the interests of the banks and big corporations (bailouts), military (ramping up the wars/drone attacks), and attack those least protected by deporting undocumented works, rolling back pollution controls and backing down from any meaningful healthcare reform. His silver tongue convinces people that he is part of the 99% while everything he does only furthers the interests and long-range plans of the elite. No Republican would get away with such broadside attacks.
While the Occupy Movement has focused the discussion on the causes behind the current crisis, Obama focuses on the false issue of budget cuts and supports the Republican agenda of continued control by the 1% of the economic and political life of America and the world. Supporting either the Democratic or Republican parties means joining the ranks of those who see nothing but war and austerity for the majority while opening the floodgates of greed for the scum that floats to the top. Only by staying independent and in the streets will we have the power to change the way America does business. We must unite to end the terrorist wars and austerity drive lead by the US and its allies around the world. Only by focusing our research and economic might on the task of rebuilding a just sustainable future will we be true to our revolutionary heritage. In the end only a thorough-going revolution that takes the power from the 1% and gives it to the 99% will we establish true democracy in our nation and once again set the example for the rest of the world.
We need to Build the Party of the 99%!
Yes, we need a third party candidate….you must begin now however, so that you can get his/her names on the 2012 ballots in all 50 states -or as many as you possibly can. It will not be an easy task but it is a hopeful one. See the Prophecy of the Grandmothers………..
